Description & Objectives
This book is written with the philosophy that the most important thing is to prepare engineers to understand how to use thermodynamics in professional practice. Engineers must gain an intuitive understanding of how changes to a system parameter will affect the energy-related performance of a process. The approach taken in this book is to help students develop this understanding. Throughout the book, students will be asked to use modern computational tools of their choice to rapidly vary the parameters of a system, so that they can recognize the interactions between the characteristics of the systems.
