THE ULTIMATE TOOL FOR FLOOR SYSTEMS

From framing layout to detail drawing production, SAFE integrates every aspect of the engineering design process in one easy and intuitive environment. SAFE provides unmatched productivity to the engineer with its truly unique combination of power, comprehensive capabilities, and ease-of-use.

Foundations, Basemats and Footings

SAFE is ideal for modeling foundations, basemats, and footings. Easily model soil supports and zero tension soil models with uplift analysis. The area assignment of soil supports is based on the subgrade modulus, and they automatically adjust whenever the mesh changes. Basemat foundation models can include pedestals, walls, columns, beams, and piles in addition to the foundation area.

Features of CSI SAFE 2020

CSI SAFE v20 is floor system design and analysis software. SAFE is ideal for modeling, analyzing and sizing reinforced concrete slabs and foundations. From modeling objects to creating designs and details, SAFE integrates all aspects of the sizing process. Its combination of power, capacity and intuitive use, provide unparalleled benefits to the design engineer.

Modeling is fast and efficient with sophisticated drawing tools, one of the import options can also be used to bring in data from CAD programs, spreadsheets or databases. Slabs or foundations can be of any shape, and can include ridged and circular curved edges.

SAFE offers a wide range of code-based design features for PT and reinforced concrete beams, slab design and composite steel beams.

What’s new in CSI SAFE v20

  • Slab panels are a new entity that can be generated automatically using grids or support lines, or they can be drawn by the user. They overlap the floor system and can be used to apply alternating live loads, and can also be used to report center-of-span displacements and ground pressure summaries.
  • Support lines have been added to streamline the modeling of the integration bands and the arrangement of the tendons. They can be drawn and edited on screen, as well as automatically generated along the grid lines.
  • A general meshing has been added that mainly favors quadrilateral elements, but switches over to triangular elements when necessary for sharp corners and irregular geometry. Rectangular mesh is still available as an option.
  • Models can now be created by converting elements from dwg / dxf planes to SAFE v20 objects or by plotting on these planes for greater control.
  • Enhancements have been made to simplify the drawing and editing of user-specified reinforcing bars. Bar spacing and vertical offset from a reference point can now be viewed and displayed in the model.
  • Multiple processors are now supported for the analysis, design and retrieval of results in tables. Load cases can run in parallel based on the number of physical cores available.
  • The definition of materials now includes creep and shrinkage models, which can be used for the analysis of deformation having cracking and rheological effects. Models based on the following ACI 209R-92, AS 3600-2009, CEB-FIP 90, CEB-FIP 2010, Eurocode 2-2004, GL 2000, NZS 3101-2006 codes are available.
  • You can now control which load cases are run for analysis, which can save time when there are many non-linear load cases.
  • Composite beam design is now available to support more forged types. Horizontal steel beams can be drawn and assigned for your design. Honeycomb beams (circular or hexagonal holes) can be designed. The calculation can be done on the model as a whole or interactively on individual members. Supported calculation codes include: AISC 360-16, AISC 360-10, AISC 360-05, BS5950-1990, Chinese 2010, CSA S16-14, and Eurocode 4-2004.
  • ACI 318-19 and AS 3600-2018 standards have been added for the design of reinforced and post-tensioned concrete (PT).
  • New professional quality design reports are automatically generated along with the option to generate fully customizable reports.
  • Slab and beam reinforcement detail can now be exported to Revit via CSiXRevit
