INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS
A. General
1.SCOPE OF BID 1.1 The Employer, as defined in the Bidding Data and Appendix to
Bid, hereinafter “the Employer,” wishes to receive bids for the
construction of Works, as described in Sections 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10
and summarised in the Bidding Data, hereinafter referred to as
“the Works.”


1.2 The successful bidder will be required to complete the Works
within the period stated in the Bidding Data and Appendix to Bid
from the date of commencement of the Works.
1.3 Throughout these bidding documents, the terms bid and tender
and their derivatives (bidder/tenderer, bid/tendered,
bidding/tendering, etc.) are synonymous, and day means calendar
day. Singular also means plural.

2.SOURCE OF FUNDS 2.1 The Borrower named in the Bidding Data has applied for or
received a loan or credit (hereinafter called “loan”) from Funding
Agency in various currencies equivalent to the amount in U.S.
Dollars indicated in the Bidding Data towards the cost of the
Project specified in the Bidding Data, and the Borrower intends to
apply a part of the proceeds of this loan to eligible payments
under the contract for which these bidding documents are issued.


2.2 Payments by the lender will be made only at the request of the
Borrower and upon approval by the lender in accordance with the
terms and conditions of the Loan Agreement, and will be subject
in all respects to the terms and conditions of that Agreement. No
party other than the Borrower shall derive any rights from the
Loan Agreement or have any claim to the loan proceeds.
