This particular study deals with the Tarbela Dam Project (TDP) developed as a follow up to settlement of the river waters dispute between India and Pakistan. It formed part of a wider set of infrastructure projects to further develop the existing Indus Basin Irrigation System (IBIS) and facilitate transfer of stored water from the western rivers to replace water lost from the eastern rivers
