In this post, some considerations and solutions of the errors that appear during the activation of Autodesk applications when using a license network are left.
FIRST TIME INSTALLING ANY AUTODESK 2020-2024 PROGRAM?
If it is the first program you are installing, either from version 2020 to 2024, just follow the instructions in the text document or watch the video. Also, read below for considerations for correctly configuring the lic.dat file.
FOR THOSE WHO HAVE INSTALLED A NEW VERSION AND ALREADY HAVE A PREVIOUS VERSION ACTIVATED WITH NETWORK LICENSES
- Download the activation file
- Copy the Common files folder , in the path indicated in the text document «Instructions.txt»
- Replace the lic.dat file with the current one (Obviously add your HOSTNAME and MAC)
- Open LMTOOLS and click on Reread License file (Tab: Start/Stop/Reread)
FOR THOSE WHO ALREADY HAVE ACTIVATED A PROGRAM OF THE 2024 VERSION
Just install the program, open it and select network activation. If it throws an error, it is because the lic.dat file is not updated, do the following:
- Download the activation file again.
- Replace the lic.dat file with the current one (Obviously add your HOSTNAME and MAC)
- Open LMTOOLS and click on Reread License file (Tab: Start/Stop/Reread)
CONSIDERATIONS TO CONFIGURE THE LIC.DAT FILE
- The MAC address is made up of 12 digits. If there is more than one in the LMTOOLS , they will be shown in quotes and separated by a space.
- If there are two MAC addresses in the LMTOOLS . The first corresponds to the cable connection and the second to the Wifi connection, use according to your connection. In case you do not have an internet connection, use the first one.
- If more than two MAC addresses are shown in LMTOOLS and you want to know which one corresponds to your connection, open CMD and run the command
ipconfig/all
COMMON MISTAKES
- VD is starting, please check vendor daemon’s status in debug log: This error occurs because the lic.dat file is misconfigured.
- Edit the file correctly taking into account the considerations mentioned above.
- Delete the created service and create a new one. To delete a service, click on Remove Service (Tab: Conf. Services). If it won’t let you remove it: Open Windows Services and stop the service, with that, you can now remove it.
- Flexnet License Finder
- If the error occurs after restarting the computer and/or after it has been working correctly, it is because the server is not running.
Solution: Open LMTOOLS, stop the server and start it again. - If the error occurs the first time you are opening the program: your lic.dat file is not configured correctly (Read the recommendations for configuring the file above)
- If the error occurs after restarting the computer and/or after it has been working correctly, it is because the server is not running.
- Network License Not Available:
The problem is the Adsklicensing version. It may have been updated by installing a new version of an Autodesk app, or by installing an update.
Solution: Just repeat step 2 of the “Instructions.txt” text document
