This book provides engineers and students with a set of examples that meet the requirements of British Standard DD ENV 1993-1-1: 1992, Eurocode 3:Design of steel structures Part 1.1 General rules and rules for buildings(together with United Kingdom National Application Document) l .The examples include a 5-storey steel-framed building and five other steel structures. Each example has been prepared to give a detailed indication of the process of designing steel structures to Eurocode 3, including al1 the checks required by the Eurocode and the UK National Application Document (NAD). Supplementing DD ENV 1993-1-1: 1992, the Steel Construction Institute has produced C-EC3, a concise version of Eurocode 3: Part 1.1 in a form familiar to engineers in the United Kingdom2. Where appropriate, the use of this concise document is highlighted.
